UFM officially joins the CFA Institute University Affiliation program: A strategic milestone
On November 25, 2025, in a formal ceremony held at the auditorium on the 7th floor of the Tan My Campus, the University of Finance – Marketing (UFM) officially received the CFA Institute University Affiliation Program (UAP) certificate for its Finance and Banking training program. The event marked an important milestone in UFM’s efforts to align its training quality with international standards and strengthen its integration into the global financial education community.
Behind this achievement was the sustained commitment and strategic direction of the University’s leadership and the School of Financial and Banking Technology, which played a key role throughout the preparation and coordination process with the CFA Institute. The School undertook a range of important tasks, including aligning and standardizing the training program with the CFA Program Candidate Body of Knowledge (CBOK), achieving an integration level of at least 70%; coordinating and finalizing professional documentation with the CFA Institute; organizing and standardizing academic activities; meeting the requirements of the University Affiliation Program; and strategically developing finance and banking human resources in line with international standards.

These pioneering efforts, together with the strong commitment of the University’s leadership, enabled UFM to become an official CFA Institute University Affiliation Program partner, a distinction granted to universities whose relevant programs meet the CFA Institute’s established requirements and standards.

The ceremony was honored by the presence of Mr. Richard McGillivray, Senior Director of Product and Education advocacy, Asia-Pacific, CFA Institute; Ms. Florence Wong, Director of Customer Solutions and Partnerships, Asia-Pacific, CFA Institute; Ms. Tran Thi Xuan Mui, Deputy General Director and representative of Smart Train Academy, a leading CFA training provider in Vietnam; representatives of the leadership of the University of Finance – Marketing; Assoc. Prof. Dr. Pham Quoc Viet, Vice President of UFM; Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nguyen Thi My Linh, representing the School of Financial and Banking Technology; as well as numerous lecturers and students from the School.

UFM’s official participation in the UAP represents an important step in the University’s development. It not only strengthens UFM’s integration into the global financial education network but also demonstrates its commitment to aligning and continuously improving its training programs in accordance with internationally recognized standards. At the same time, the partnership establishes a foundation for long-term academic collaboration between UFM and the CFA Institute, creating new opportunities for education and research.
For UFM students, participation in the UAP offers significant academic and professional benefits. Students can access a curriculum aligned with internationally recognized CFA standards from the undergraduate level, benefit from CFA scholarship opportunities, and gain an advantage when pursuing careers in domestic and international financial institutions. Through engagement with the CFA community and professional networks, students can also expand their professional connections, while exposure to CBOK-aligned content can provide a stronger foundation for pursuing the CFA Program in the future.

UFM’s participation in the CFA Institute University Affiliation Program reflects the University’s strategic commitment to innovation and international alignment in Finance and Banking education.
