Program Series Implementing Professional Practice 1 for Banking Students: Connecting Education with Practical Experience
During the first semester of 2026, the School of Financial and Banking Technology, University of Finance and Marketing (UFM) implemented the Professional Practice 1 program for students majoring in Banking at reputable partner institutions, including MB Bank, Nam A Bank, and Woori Bank Vietnam.
The program is one of the School’s key training activities, reflecting its consistent commitment to closely connecting theory with practice and contributing to the enhancement of students’ professional competencies in the context of the financial and banking industry undergoing profound transformation. Through the program, students directly experience the working environment at banks and securities companies, thereby integrating theoretical knowledge with practical experience in a comprehensive manner. Beyond observation, students gradually develop the ability to analyze and evaluate professional operations, identify organizational structures, and gain a deeper understanding of the industry’s evolving trends. More importantly, this process helps students develop professional thinking and adaptability while gaining a clearer understanding of their future career paths. This represents an important transition from “learning to know” to “learning to do” in modern higher education.

As part of the program, students participated in introductory sessions about the institutions, learning about their organizational structures, products and services, operational processes, as well as their development orientations. This provided students with an opportunity to gain a clearer understanding of how financial institutions operate in practice. In addition, direct visits to the institutions gave students a more tangible perspective on the working environment, corporate culture, and specific professional requirements.

The Professional Practice 1 program series across the different majors not only brings benefits to students but also contributes to strengthening the cooperative relationship between the School of Financial and Banking Technology and financial and banking institutions. Through the involvement and support of enterprises, the School has opportunities to update practical requirements and further improve its training programs, with the aim of developing a high-quality workforce that meets the demands of the labor market.
The implementation of the program at reputable institutions further affirms the training orientation of the School of Financial and Banking Technology: maintaining a close connection between education and practice, placing learners at the center, and focusing on the comprehensive development of students’ competencies.
