Professional Practice 1: Enhancing Practical Competencies for Fintech Students
During the first semester of 2026, the Department of Corporate Finance – School of Financial and Banking Technology implemented the Professional Practice 1 course for students majoring in Financial Technology (Fintech) at reputable financial institutions, including Military Commercial Joint Stock Bank, Nam A Commercial Joint Stock Bank, Vietcap Securities Joint Stock Company, SSI Securities Corporation, and KB Securities Vietnam Joint Stock Company.
Students participated in the program through a structured approach that combined an overview of professional activities with practical experience.
At commercial banks (Military Commercial Joint Stock Bank and Nam A Commercial Joint Stock Bank): Students learned about modern banking models, organizational structures, credit operations, fund mobilization, payment activities, and, in particular, digital banking applications. In addition, students were introduced to risk management processes, internal controls, and digital transformation trends in banking operations.

At securities companies (Vietcap Securities Joint Stock Company, SSI Securities Corporation, and KB Securities Vietnam Joint Stock Company): Students gained exposure to capital market activities through operations such as securities brokerage, investment advisory, financial analysis, and portfolio management. At the same time, students observed trading systems, learned about the operation of technology platforms in securities trading, and explored the role of data in market analysis.

Practical experience activities: Students participated in in-depth introductory sessions, interacted with industry experts, and visited professional departments directly. Through these activities, students not only gained practical knowledge but also developed a clearer understanding of corporate culture, professional requirements, and the skills needed in the workplace.
This approach helps students develop a systematic understanding of the Fintech industry while gaining a clearer understanding of the connections among banking, securities, and Fintech in the context of digital transformation.
Building on experience from professional practice at a fintech enterprise
Notably, during the third semester of 2025, the Department of Corporate Finance – School of Financial and Banking Technology successfully organized the Professional Practice 1 program for Fintech students at Alphatrue Joint Stock Company, one of the pioneering enterprises in the Fintech sector.
Unlike professional practice programs at banks or securities companies, the professional practice program at Alphatrue Joint Stock Company featured the distinctive characteristics of the Fintech ecosystem, where students had direct exposure to the application of technology in the provision of financial services, digital product development processes, as well as the role of data in analysis and decision-making. Through these experiences, students gradually developed technological thinking and the ability to adapt to the digital financial environment.

The simultaneous implementation of professional practice programs at Fintech enterprises and traditional financial institutions demonstrates the consistent educational orientation of the School of Financial and Banking Technology in connecting theory with practice.
This is not merely an experiential activity but also an important step in helping students develop professional competencies, digital thinking, and adaptability in the context of the financial industry undergoing significant transformation, thereby contributing to the development of high-quality human resources for the market.
