Professional Practice 2 in Financial Technology (Fintech): Advanced Training Closely Connected with Practice in the Digital Era
During the first semester of 2026, the Department of Corporate Finance – School of Financial and Banking Technology, University of Finance – Marketing (UFM) implemented the Professional Practice 2 course for students majoring in Financial Technology (Fintech) at the Digital Solutions Center and Onebank Center of Nam A Commercial Joint Stock Bank (Nam A Bank).
Unlike Professional Practice 1, which focuses on orientation and familiarization with
the practical working environment, Professional Practice 2 is designed with a
more specialized focus, a longer duration, and a higher level of practical
participation, enabling students to gradually engage in technology-related
professional activities in the finance and banking sector.
In-depth exposure to the digital finance environment at enterprises
At the Digital Solutions Center and Onebank Center – pioneering units in the
digital transformation of Nam A Bank – students participated in an advanced
practical experience model, including:
- Learning about the architecture of digital banking systems and solutions,
including technology-based financial service platforms;
- Observing the operational processes of the automated banking model (Onebank),
which integrates multiple financial services on a digital platform;
- Gaining exposure to digital financial products and services, from electronic
payments to solutions for individual and corporate customers;
- Engaging in discussions with experts, thereby gaining a clearer understanding
of Fintech development trends and human resource requirements in the context of
digital transformation.
Through these activities, students did not merely observe but gradually developed the
ability to analyze, evaluate, and connect theoretical knowledge with practical
experience, particularly in areas such as digital banking, financial data, and
financial technology.

Building on the foundation of Professional Practice 1 in the Fintech ecosystem
Previously, during the third semester of 2025, students completed the Professional Practice
1 course and had the opportunity to undertake practical training at Alphatrue
Joint Stock Company – an enterprise operating in the Fintech sector.
At Alphatrue Joint Stock Company, students were introduced to the distinctive
characteristics of the Fintech ecosystem, including the application of
technology in the provision of financial services, digital product development
processes, and the role of data in analysis and decision-making. These
experiences played an important role in developing students’ financial
technology mindset and providing a foundation for deeper engagement with the
practical environment in the subsequent course.

This continuity demonstrates a training approach based on a progressive pathway:
from identification and experience to in-depth engagement, helping students
develop their competencies in a systematic and sustainable manner.
Affirming the orientation of practice-based education
The implementation of Professional Practice 2 at units specializing in financial
technology not only enhances the quality of training but also affirms the
consistent educational orientation of the School of Financial and Banking
Technology (UFM):
- Strengthening the close connection between education and practice;
- Putting learners at the center;
- Developing digital competencies and technological thinking.
Professional Practice 2 is not merely a continuation but also an advanced stage in the
training process for Fintech students, helping them progress from
familiarization to in-depth engagement with the professional environment.
Through direct participation in activities at enterprises, students gradually develop
their professional expertise, occupational skills, and ability to adapt to the
labor market in the context of increasingly extensive digital transformation.
This provides an important foundation for developing high-quality human
resources in the Fintech sector, meeting the sector’s development requirements
in the future.
