Recently, the University of Finance – Marketing (UFM) successfully organized the 2025 Review Ceremony of Science, Technology and Innovation Activities. The ceremony provided an opportunity for the University to recognize and honor the outstanding efforts and achievements of collectives and individuals in scientific research. The School of Financial and Banking Technology was particularly proud to be recognized as one of the three outstanding collectives across the University, alongside the Faculty of Business Administration and the Faculty of Data Science.

Outstanding achievements in domestic and international scientific publications. The School of Financial and Banking Technology currently has 56 full-time staff members, including 54 lecturers, one specialist, and one researcher. Among them are four Associate Professors, 19 PhDs, and a number of lecturers currently pursuing doctoral degrees. The School currently manages three specialized departments: Corporate Finance, Banking, and Public Finance. It also offers training programs in Financial Technology and Finance – Banking at various levels, including standard, integrated, talent, and fully English-taught programs. In particular, the School’s training programs have been recognized by CFA Institute USA as integrating more than 70% of the content of the international CFA qualification, contributing to enhancing the unit’s academic reputation and international integration capacity.

The year 2025 marked a significant breakthrough in both the quality and quantity of scientific publications by the School’s lecturers. The School achieved 100% of its prescribed scientific research requirements, successfully publishing 64 international journal articles and 122 domestic journal articles, along with four ministerial/provincial-level scientific research projects, representing a substantial increase compared with previous years. In addition, the School organized and participated in 19 international conferences and 52 domestic conferences, together with numerous scientific research projects at various levels. The School also successfully organized the 3rd National Conference on “Finance for Sustainable Development”; completed three textbooks and three monographs; and was responsible for organizing 12 academic talks and seminars on AI, Machine Learning, cybersecurity, and modern financial trends.

In recognition of these contributions, the School’s leaders and lecturers were honored among UFM’s outstanding individuals:

  • In the category of staff with outstanding achievements in international publications in 2025, the University honored Assoc. Prof., PhD. Nguyen Thi My Linh (Director of the School of Financial and Banking Technology) and PhD. Bui Ngoc Toan (Lecturer at the School of Financial and Banking Technology), together with Assoc. Prof., PhD. Phan Thi Hang Nga (Head of the Office of Academic Affairs) and Assoc. Prof., PhD. Le Thi Thuy Hang (Head of the International Training Institute).
  • In the category of staff implementing ministerial-level science and technology tasks in 2025, Assoc. Prof., PhD. Tran Thi Kim Oanh (Vice Director of the School of Financial and Banking Technology) was honored alongside Assoc. Prof., PhD. Le Thi Thuy Hang.

Students leading the academic research movement. In line with the spirit of innovation, students of the School of Financial and Banking Technology have also made their mark, with 89 scientific research projects registered and completed. The School’s key research orientations remain closely aligned with practical trends and international integration, including Fintech & AI (digital banking, Machine Learning, Blockchain, etc.), Green Finance (ESG, sustainable finance, carbon credit taxation, etc.), Taxation – Customs, and Public Finance.

The achievements of the School’s students have also produced impressive results: 13 awards at the National Econometrics Olympiad and nine scientific research awards at the Ministry of Education and Training level. Notably, students themselves have published two Scopus-indexed international journal articles and 13 domestic journal articles.

Promoting technology transfer and development orientation for 2026. The School of Financial and Banking Technology aims to continue expanding cooperation with businesses and developing specialized consulting packages in corporate finance, data analytics, ESG, financial dashboard design, and other areas, while guiding students and lecturers toward highly applied research.

The achievements attained in 2025 are evidence of the School’s collective efforts, spirit of innovation, and appropriate development orientation in strengthening the connection between education, scientific research, and technology transfer. In the coming period, the School will continue to focus on developing strong research groups, promoting applied research, strengthening cooperation with businesses, and improving the quality of scientific publications, thereby contributing effectively to the implementation of the University of Finance – Marketing’s science, technology, and innovation development strategy in the new period.

As 2025 comes to a successful close, the title of “Outstanding Collective” awarded by UFM serves as a great source of motivation for the School of Financial and Banking Technology to continue strengthening its academic standing and promoting the value of knowledge and innovation in the years ahead!
