On the morning of 28/06/2025, at 778 Nguyen Kiem Campus, Phu Nhuan District, the Faculty of Finance & Banking (FFB), University of Finance & Marketing, held the Round‑2/2025 academic seminar on the topic “Uncertainty in Economics and Finance–Banking” for PhD candidates in Finance & Banking. The event welcomed keynote speaker Prof. Dr. Dang Van Dan from Ho Chi Minh City University of Banking; faculty leaders, supervisors, researchers, and all PhD candidates pursuing their dissertations in Finance & Banking at UFM.

The seminar not only provided a forum for scholarly exchange between PhD candidates and lecturers, but also offered access to new theoretical viewpoints and practical applications amid a volatile global economic–financial context. In his keynote, Prof. Dr. Dang Van Dan analyzed core features of risk and uncertainty in the modern economic environment and suggested approaches for research on finance–banking models. The presentation was highly evaluated for academic rigor and applicability, especially useful for candidates in orienting and implementing their dissertations.

In parallel with the keynote, the program allotted time for candidates to consult directly with supervisors on research progress, technical difficulties, and to sign off on the periodic study plans for the last six months of 2025. This strengthened academic supervision, ensuring progress and quality in doctoral training.

In her concluding remarks, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nguyen Thi My Linh – Dean of the Faculty of Finance & Banking – emphasized that the academic seminar is not merely a periodic activity but an indispensable part of the strategy to enhance research quality for postgraduate learners, fostering autonomy, critical thinking, and international academic integration among PhD candidates.
