On 17/05/2024, the University of Finance – Marketing held a conference to celebrate Vietnam Science and Technology Day and to review science and technology activities in 2023. The conference was attended by representatives of the Board of Rectors—Dr. Le Trung Dao, Vice Rector, and Dr. Pham Quoc Viet, Vice Rector—together with lecturers, staff, and researchers from the University’s institutes, offices, and academic faculties.

At the conference, the University leadership and researchers listened to a report on S&T activities in 2023 and plans for the coming years, and honored scientists and collectives with outstanding contributions over the past year.

The Faculty of Finance – Banking was honored as one of the University’s top three units for outstanding research performance. At the conference, the Faculty received recognition from the Board of Rectors for: 08 individuals who led ministerial/provincial‑level research projects; 01 individual as part of the University’s strongest research‑publishing group; and 01 individual who successfully defended a dissertation and was awarded the PhD in 2023.

To achieve these results, guided by the University’s leadership, the Faculty’s leadership established annual objectives and concrete action plans, deployed to each staff member and lecturer with strong determination. Research activities have been anchored by reputable researchers while also identifying new talents tasked with conducting and completing projects—sharing and innovating research methods to improve the Faculty’s research quality.

The University’s 2023 research report highly commended the Faculty’s research projects, international publications, and studies, which enhanced the University’s reputation when bidding for and competing in research calls at various levels. Many projects analyzed promulgated socio‑economic policies for suitability and then proposed policy adjustments for implementation. Specialized projects, once accepted, were incorporated into teaching to improve the Faculty’s instructional quality.

Building on recent achievements, the Faculty will continue to strengthen research activities by increasing reputable international publications indexed in ISI/Scopus; linking research with training, innovation/start‑up activities, and community service; and aligning science and technology with the University’s mission and goals—balancing innovation with sustainable human‑resource development to improve training quality and elevate the reputation and brand of the Faculty in particular and the University in general.
