In order to provide opportunities for lecturers and students to access new knowledge, trends, and learn from the training experiences of developed countries in the field of Fintech, on October 1st, 2023, the Finance and Banking Faculty organized a specialized lecture on "Digital Currency and Blockchain Technology" for K20 students, as well as other interested students. The lecture was conducted online via the Microsoft Teams platform and attracted more than 300 students and lecturers from the Finance and Banking Faculty
In the specialized lecture, we were privileged to have Dr. Nguyen Minh Nhat as the keynote speaker. Dr Nguyen Minh Nhat is currently working at the University of Banking in Ho Chi Minh City, serving as both a lecturer and an expert in the field of Digital Currency and Blockchain.
From the Finance and Banking department, we were honored to have the presence of Associate Professor Dr. Nguyen Thi My Linh, the Dean of the Finance and Banking Faculty, along with Dr. Tran Thi Thanh Nga, the Head of the Finance, Currency, and Insurance Division, and other faculty members .

The discussion revolved around prominent issues in Digital Currency and Blockchain, including:
- An overview of Blockchain technology
- The construction of the Bitcoin Blockchain and the consensus mechanism behind it.
- Security issues related to Blockchain, introducing concepts such as Public key and Private key.
- Ethereum and Smart Contracts
- Some applications of Blockchain in financial and banking operations.
Blockchain technology is widely regarded by experts as one of the crucial platforms for digital transformation. With its decentralized nature, blockchain is particularly suitable for applications that require data verification, transparency, and seamless data interoperability among software entities.
After the presentation by TS. Nguyen Minh Nhat, the discussion and exchange session began. The atmosphere of the specialized report was quite lively as students asked many interesting questions. Some of these questions showed a keen interest in the practical applications of Blockchain, such as: “How can traditional banks leverage Blockchain technology to optimize payment processes? Why is security important for the Insurance industry in relation to Blockchain? From a risk and profit perspective, how does investing in Bitcoin differ from traditional stock investments?...”

The specialized report session concluded with an atmosphere of excitement and enthusiasm. The students were eager and looking forward to participating in similar report sessions to further update their knowledge, alongside their core curriculum courses.
