Closing ceremony and award presentation for students of the School of Financial and Banking Technology with outstanding achievements in scientific research in 2025

In recent years, student scientific research at the School of Financial and Banking Technology, University of Finance – Marketing (UFM), has received strong support from the School's leadership and continued to develop in both scale and quality. On the morning of Saturday, November 22, 2025, at the Tan My Campus, with the approval of the University’s leadership, the School of Financial and Banking Technology and the School's Youth union and Student association organized a closing and award ceremony for the 2025 school-level student scientific research activities and launched the 15th “Young Economic Talents” Award for 2026. The event honored student research teams with outstanding achievements and their supervising lecturers. It also provided a valuable forum for students to exchange research experiences with lecturers, leading experts in economics, finance, and banking, and students who have achieved outstanding results in scientific research competitions.

The event was attended by Assoc. Prof. Dr. Tran Thi Kim Oanh, Deputy Head of the Department of Scientific management; Nguyen Tien Khoi, MA, Secretary of the Student Union; Pham Thi Minh Phuong, Deputy Director of Shinhan Bank – District 11 Branch; and Truong Tuan Anh, Head of the Customer service Department, Shinhan Bank – District 11 Branch.

Representing the School of Financial and Banking Technology, University of Finance – Marketing, were Assoc. Prof. Dr. Le Thi Thuy Hang, Deputy Director; Dr. Nguyen Minh Phuc, Head of the Department of Corporate finance; together with lecturers, alumni, and students interested in scientific research.

In her opening and closing remarks on the 2025 student scientific research activities, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Le Thi Thuy Hang, Deputy Director of the School of Financial and Banking Technology, emphasized the importance of student research while commending the students' enthusiasm and the dedication and commitment of their supervising lecturers. She noted that, alongside the growing number of research projects, student participation in scientific research has also increased significantly. The quality of the research has likewise been demonstrated through numerous awards at different levels. In 2025, students of the School achieved notable results, including: 1 second prize, 3 third prizes, and 7 consolation prizes at the National econometrics and applications Olympics; 4 third prizes at the ministerial level; 5 consolation prizes at the ministerial level; 6 prizes at the 15th Young Economic Talents Award; 10 prizes at the school level. In addition, two student research teams published their research in prestigious international journals during the year. These achievements demonstrate the strong research capacity and growing academic engagement of students at the School of Financial and Banking Technology.

During the ceremony, a representative of the sponsor, Shinhan Bank – District 11 Branch, presented awards to student research teams whose work had been published in international journals, reflecting the bank’s support for and commitment to promoting student research.

Alongside their achievements in scientific research, students of the School of Financial and Banking Technology have also performed strongly in major academic competitions. Drawing on their knowledge, creativity, and thorough preparation, student teams have achieved notable results in competitions such as Moneyverse, the Financial arena, the Vietnam student Stock investment challenge 2025, and the English competition “The Flame Challenge 2025”. These achievements reflect not only students' academic capabilities but also their ability to apply knowledge, work collaboratively, and respond effectively to practical challenges.

The program also featured a series of talk sessions, giving students the opportunity to interact with lecturers, experts in economics and finance, and alumni who have achieved outstanding results in student scientific research competitions. These sessions provided a valuable opportunity for students to learn firsthand about research methods, practical experiences, and the process of developing research projects from experienced researchers and previous generations of students. The speakers included: Assoc. Prof. Dr. Le Thi Thuy Hang, Deputy Director of the School of Financial and Banking Technology; Assoc. Prof. Dr. Ngo Thai Hung, Lecturer, School of Financial and Banking Technology; La Quoc Trung, a student who achieved outstanding results in the School's Student scientific research activities in 2025. The exchange provided students with practical insights into conducting scientific research, identifying research topics, developing research methodologies, and improving the quality and academic value of their research.
