The Department of Finance and Banking regularly visits and experiences practical activities at enterprises to bridge the gap between theory and practice. This helps students update their practical knowledge and have a closer look at the working environment in the future. In 2023, this activity has been increasingly emphasized, enhancing quality and quantity through a series of enterprise student visits.
Specifically, in the second semester of 2023, the department organized practical visits for 590 students to leading insurance enterprises, including MANULIFE, DAI-ICHI LIFE, PHÚ HƯNG LIFE, and SHINHAN LIFE.
The department designs the content of the Occupational Practice program to ensure it meets students' practical needs, helping them access the field quickly, positions for practice, and understand the various job positions corresponding to the tasks of each unit and functional department within the enterprise. Professional knowledge is integrated from theory in the classroom to reality through practical sessions and internships at enterprises. Program information is provided to students in a specific, practical manner yet remains lively and compelling. Representatives of enterprises have introduced themselves, exchanged experiences, provided guidance on practice, and offered impressive skill training sessions in a friendly and cheerful atmosphere. Therefore, students feel more comfortable and enthusiastic without the initial nervousness and worry when entering the enterprise. Students have raised questions from various perspectives: experiences, real opportunities to move from an employee to a managerial level, and difficulties accessing job positions after leaving the university.
In addition, students also visit the working areas to understand the corporate culture further and observe the layout of a professional working space. From there, students grasp the criteria for selecting personnel of enterprises to self-assess their own capabilities and proactively improve their skills. These visits not only help students enhance their knowledge and skills but also shape a serious and professional attitude in both learning and work to meet domestic and regional labor market demands.
The Department of Finance and Banking sincerely thank the leaders of the enterprises for their enthusiastic support, sharing, and guidance for students and for accompanying the department and the university for many years. The department hopes that students will leverage their strengths, listen to the sharing of experienced professionals to grasp the profession, hone necessary skills, and turn today's opportunities into reality through these practical and beneficial lessons. The department hopes that occupational practice sessions and real visits will help students have a more realistic view of the industry they are studying and, along with that, find suitable positions and suitable jobs in the future.
