            The Party Cell of the Institute of Finance & Banking Technology held its Q4/2025 thematic session titled “Teachers in the 4.0 Era: Both Torchbearers of Revolutionary Spirit and Responsible Digital Citizens” at 18:00 on 03/11/2025 at the Institute Office (main campus of the University of Finance & Marketing), in accordance with Guideline No. 12‑HD/BTGTW dated 20/09/2021 of the Central Propaganda Department, which specifies that each Party cell organizes at least one thematic session per quarter, aligned with the annual study of President Ho Chi Minh as guided by the Central level and connected to the cell’s practical context.

The session saw full participation of all Party members of the Cell, along with the Institute’s staff and employees, and the presence of Comrade Pham Quoc Viet – Party Committee member in charge of the Cell. Notably, this was the first thematic session after the unit’s renaming from the Faculty of Finance & Banking to the Institute of Finance & Banking Technology.

1. PURPOSE & SIGNIFICANCE

The Q4/2025 thematic session on “Teachers in the 4.0 Era: Both Torchbearers of Revolutionary Spirit and Responsible Digital Citizens” was organized by the Party Cell of the Institute of Finance & Banking Technology to effectively implement Directive 05‑CT/TW of the Politburo on promoting the study and practice of Ho Chi Minh’s ideology, ethics, and style in the new context.

The session focused on clarifying the role of teachers—especially lecturers who are Party members—in:

  • Spreading progressive ideas and countering distorted viewpoints in cyberspace;
  • Fulfilling digital‑citizenship responsibilities, behaving in a civilized and standard manner in the digital environment; analyzing core characteristics of teachers in the 4.0 era;
  • Integrating ethics, politics, and technology into teaching to build a generation of students who are resilient, knowledgeable, and responsible.

2. PRESENTATIONS & DISCUSSION PROGRAM

In her opening remarks, Secretary Nguyen Thi My Linh said: “On the occasion of the 43rd anniversary of Vietnamese Teachers’ Day (20/11), the Party Cell chose the theme ‘Teachers in the 4.0 Era: Both Torchbearers of Revolutionary Spirit and Responsible Digital Citizens’ to affirm the role, responsibility, and fortitude of teachers in general—and IFBT lecturers in particular—in the digital age. This is not only a moment of gratitude but also an opportunity for each Party‑member lecturer to reflect on their mission amid comprehensive digital transformation, to constantly renew thinking, enhance digital capability, remain steadfast in political stance, proactively spread positive values, and contribute to building a civilized, safe, and identity‑rich digital educational environment.”

In the presentation segment, three in‑depth topics were delivered by comrades:

  • Comrade Tran Van Trung with the paper “Teachers 4.0 – Building the Image of an Exemplary Party Member in the Digital Environment”;
  • Comrade Nguyen Minh Phuc with the paper “Studying and Following Uncle Ho in Cyberspace: The Mission of Teachers in the New Era”;
  • Comrade Tran Thi Mo with the paper “Teachers in the 4.0 Era: Both Torchbearers of Revolutionary Spirit and Responsible Digital Citizens.”

The three papers highlighted lecturers’ political‑ethical responsibilities in a digital world, warned about the risk of moral deviation online and called for spreading positive values; analyzed Ho Chi Minh’s educational thought and its application to building a digital persona and a teacher’s standard conduct online; and delved into the essence of education in the digital era, emphasizing lecturers’ roles in method innovation, proactive technology updating, and steadfast political ideology in teaching at IFBT and at the University of Finance & Marketing.

Following the presentations was a discussion around five issues:

  • Responsibility to spread positive information and protect the Party’s ideological foundation;
  • Refuting distorted and hostile viewpoints;
  • Teachers’ culture of conduct on social networks;
  • Integrating digital ethics and information security into curricula;
  • Opportunities and challenges for young lecturers in the digital‑education environment.

The lively and practical discussion helped Party members and lecturers better recognize their roles and responsibilities in spreading positive information, protecting the Party’s ideological foundation, refuting distorted viewpoints in cyberspace, and building civilized norms of conduct in the digital environment. Many contributions emphasized integrating ethics and information‑security education into teaching, measuring digital competency, citing practical examples of Party‑member lecturers being “trapped by information” or “attacked” on social media and the lessons learned—especially amid comprehensive digital transformation—while calling for “each lecturer to be a digital torch.”

The session not only carried profound political‑education meaning but also fostered innovation, creativity, and responsibility among lecturer‑Party members in the digital era. The animated, responsible, and consensual discussion atmosphere motivated each Party‑member lecturer to build a self‑improvement plan toward a healthy, humane, and modern educational environment that contributes to the unit’s growth.

3. IMPLEMENTATION DIRECTIONS AFTER THE THEMATIC SESSION

The Party Cell of the Institute of Finance & Banking Technology requests each Party member to:

  • Develop a personal training plan and define their role in digital education;
  • Proactively innovate teaching methods and integrate digital ethics and information‑verification skills;
  • Spread the session’s content to departments, classes, and union activities;
  • Contribute to building a humane, safe, and progressive educational environment in the era of digital transformation.

In her closing remarks, Secretary Nguyen Thi My Linh emphasized: “The Q4/2025 thematic session helped spread the spirit of studying Uncle Ho in the new context and clearly defined the portrait of teachers in the 4.0 era—politically steadfast, professionally solid, and technologically astute. I hope Party members of the Institute’s Party Cell will continue to embrace and spread the positive values of this theme in their daily work to colleagues, learners, and the public.”

The Q4/2025 thematic session achieved its set objectives: “In the 4.0 era, a Party member who is also a teacher is not only a conveyor of knowledge but also a guide to values, a spreader of trust, and a guardian of political–ethical qualities amid the multi‑dimensional flow of information.”

Nguyen Bang Phi, Party member of the SFBT Party Cell
