Educating on revolutionary traditions involves teaching and disseminating the fine traditions of our nation, the Party, and our armed forces and people in the struggle to safeguard and build the country. Today, such education is an urgent task to inspire and promote solidarity, self‑reliance, and national pride in an era of integration and development.

Attention to revolutionary‑tradition education has always been prioritized at all levels and sectors. Through educational activities and patriotic emulation movements, young generations have had opportunities to train, mature, and live with ideals.

To promote and enhance the spirit of educating revolutionary traditions for Party members, on March 16, 2024, the Faculty of Finance and Banking organized a thematic meeting to learn about the history of the Saigon Gia Dinh special forces with memories of the spring of 1968. Thereby reviewing traditions, aiming to educate and cultivate revolutionary ethics of Party members. The location of the thematic meeting is at house number 287/70 Nguyen Dinh Chieu, Ward 5, District 3, Ho Chi Minh City. This is a National Historical-Cultural Relic, where there is a secret weapon bunker of the Saigon Special Forces during the General Offensive and Uprising in the Spring of Mau Than 1968.

By studying the history of the 1968 Tet Offensive, Party members and staff of the Faculty expressed gratitude to leaders and commanders at all levels, officers, soldiers, and compatriots who took part in the Offensive. They pledged to study and follow Ho Chi Minh’s ideology, morality, and style; to inherit and carry forward the accomplishments of previous generations; and to overcome difficulties and challenges in work and study to fulfill the year’s objectives.

The Finance - Banking Faculty Party Cell was directly introduced by comrade Nguyen Huu Phuc - Chairman of the Veterans Association of Ward 5, District 3, Ho Chi Minh City about the process of formation and becoming a secret base of the Saigon special forces, and introduced the exhibits on display at the National Historical Site.

At the session, Comrade Bui Ngoc Toan delivered a presentation on the Saigon – Gia Dinh Special Forces, their vivid pages of history, and fostering patriotism today; and Comrade Pham Thi Tuyet Nhung presented on “Memories of Spring 1968,” promoting patriotism in the present. Both drew practical lessons applicable to their current work.

The thematic session enhanced political awareness and ideology regarding studying and following Ho Chi Minh’s thought, morality, and style; promoted the tradition of gratitude to predecessors; upheld great national unity; and encouraged continual self‑study and cultivation of revolutionary ethics. Each Party member strengthened their sense of responsibility, actively pursued professional development, and continually fostered political qualities and revolutionary ideals—resolute to fulfill all assigned tasks.
