On the afternoon of 22 April 2024, the University of Finance – Marketing (UFM) held a meeting with representatives of the CFA Institute (USA) and Smart Train at the 778 Nguyen Kiem campus. The meeting provided an opportunity for the CFA Institute and UFM—represented by the Faculty of Finance – Banking—to learn more about each other, exchange information, and discuss plans for future program recognition between the two sides.

Attending on behalf of the CFA Institute and Smart Train were Ms. Florence Wong, Director of Partner & Client Solutions, Asia–Pacific, CFA Institute; Mr. Joseph Wong, Senior Manager, Communications, Asia–Pacific, CFA Institute; Mr. Pham Ngoc Hoang Thanh, Chief Executive Officer of Smart Train; and Ms. Tran Thi Xuan Mui, Deputy General Director of Smart Train.

MSc. Le Vo Dai Hai, Lecturer of the Faculty of Finance – Banking, presents the roadmap and plan for reviewing and revising the training program.

At the meeting, Ms. Florence Wong, Director of Partner & Client Solutions, Asia–Pacific, CFA Institute, thanked UFM for the warm reception and committed to ongoing content support to expedite a cooperation agreement between the two sides. In addition, Mr. Pham Ngoc Hoang Thanh, CEO of Smart Train, affirmed that Smart Train will continue to facilitate connections and accompany UFM and the CFA Institute during the negotiation and signing process.

Following the exchange on the progress of curriculum changes and cooperation agreements, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nguyen Thi My Linh, representing the Faculty of Finance – Banking and UFM, expressed appreciation for the feedback received and thanked the CFA Institute and Smart Train for their support.

Through this meeting, UFM and the CFA Institute will move toward collaboration in training, mutual sharing and learning of experience—thereby delivering practical and meaningful programs that enhance training quality and support students’ holistic development, professional skills, and competencies. The two sides agreed on subsequent preparatory steps for a future signing. After the meeting, the parties jointly organized a seminar for students of the Faculty of Finance – Banking on the topic “Career Prospects in Investment Analysis & Core Competencies for Success.”
